Willem Klopper is the creative mind behind LampCraft, a unique business that specializes in hand-crafted lamps made from exotic woods. After retiring and completing the construction of his home, Willem rekindled his passion for woodworking. Dusting off his tools, he dove back into the craft, starting with designing furniture and nifty artist easels.

The turning point in Willem’s journey came when he spotted an unusual tripod lamp in a magazine. This sparked his interest in lamp design, leading him to create a variety of innovative lamps. Among his designs, the ‘leaning’ style lamps have become particularly popular, offering a contemporary and stylish addition to any space.

For the past ten years, Willem has been a trader at the Hermanus Country Market, where he showcases his exquisite lamps. He and his wife Dalene thoroughly enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the market, the camaraderie with fellow traders, and the opportunity to meet numerous visitors each week.

Willem finds immense satisfaction in knowing that his lamps are appreciated worldwide, with some even making their way to places as far as Singapore. Each piece he creates is a testament to his skill and passion for woodworking, making LampCraft a standout name in artisanal lighting solutions.
